Editing a Letter Template

The content shown in this article is for version 7.26 of MediBooks and onwards.
Open MediBooks and select the System Tab. Then click the [Letter Templates] button.
Use the dropdown box at the top of the page and select a template.
Use "Template Name" to change the name of the template.
Use the Group dropdown to set the template as a "Letter" or an "Estimate". This setting will determine where the letter can be generated, templates set as Letters can be added to bills and from statement delivery, while Estimates can be added from anywhere letters can as well pending invoices on the front desk.
Edit the template content as required. The Data Fields on the right-hand side of the screen will fill automatically with the content displayed inside the square brackets when added to the letter. To add them to the template either type the full name as it is written or select the data field you wish to use and press CTRL+C and paste the content with CTRL+V into the desired location.
Once you have made the desired changes press [Save & Preview] to save the changes and see an example of the letter, any data fields relating to bills will remain unchanged as the template must be associated with a bill for this to happen. The first time a template is previewed after opening the Letter Template Dialog a customer will need to be selected.
