This article will give an overview of all information relevant to payment requests, including how to send and process a payment request.
How to Send and Process Payment Requests
Before sending a payment request it is important to make sure that the customer's account is configured for payment requests, their delivery method should be set to Email, SMS or Email & SMS, and that their contact details must be correct. This information can be changed individually or in bulk, to learn more please read:
Changing Customer Communication Preferences.
The first step in processing a payment using payment requests is to send the payment request to the customer, in MediBooks there are multiple different ways this can be sent. To learn how to do this please read:
Sending Payment Requests.
After sending a payment request it can be viewed to check details such as its status or where it was sent to. To learn how to do this please read:
Viewing Payment Requests by Status.
After a customer has paid, the payment request needs to
be posted to their account, to minimize the risk of bills being overpaid we recommend posting new payments daily. Bills must be posted from the Payment Request page mentioned in the step above. To learn more about this please read: Posting Payment Requests.
Additional Payment Request Functionality
When setting up the payment requests, there are also advanced options that can be used.
Allow bill part payment when bill has booking fee item, is a setting that can be used by customers to make part payments of bills with booking fee items. This is a setting that has been added to provide additional support for practices that use Bookable items to add charges that can be removed if the bill is paid within a certain timeframe. To learn more about this please read:

Send outstanding statement when outstanding bills are greater than one, is a setting that can be used to send statements directly from bills if there is more than one outstanding bill already posted on the account. To learn more about this please read:
